Partner and founder at Eighteen East Capital and Executive Director of the Centre for Development Finance Studies.

Currently leads product development for the FCDO’s flagship MOBILIST programme and contributes to the United Nations Economic Commission, aiding African sovereign debt management.

Thomas previously managed a pan-African institutional asset management business and held senior positions at Standard & Poor, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Algemene Bank Netherland and the Amsterdam and Rotterdam Bank.

Thomas holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Finance from the University of Melbourne.
